Responsibilities & Context

  • Lead and manage merchandising teams, ensuring smooth coordination between sub-teams handling different buyers.
  • Oversee and manage material booking, sample management, and production monitoring within the factory.
  • Collaborate closely with foreign buyers and brands to ensure product development, approvals, and timely shipments.
  • Develop and maintain detailed time and action plans (T&A) for both bulk orders and samples.
  • Work alongside suppliers to expedite approval of production and sampling goods.
  • Coordinate with the production and quality departments to guarantee on-time shipments and resolve any operational issues.
  • Experience: Minimum 12-15 years of working experience in a reputed buying house or factory directly interacting with foreign buyers/brands.
  • Leadership: At least 4-5 years of experience as a team leader, managing 2-3 sub-teams of merchandisers handling different buyers.
  • Expertise: Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in merchandising, time and action planning, material booking, sample management, and production monitoring.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a strong command of English.
  • Development and Samples: Proven ability in handling development/salesman samples and ensuring timely approvals.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work closely with the production and quality teams to ensure smooth workflow and adherence to deadlines.
  • Mathematical Skills: Strong mathematical background, with analytical skills for effective problem-solving.
