Responsibilities & Context

  • The primary responsibility of the Application Developer is to analyze requirements and develop software in close collaboration with Business Analysts, and occasionally, with end users. This role involves producing functional and technical specification documents, developing and configuring software, and supporting both new and existing functionalities.
  • Key tasks include analyzing requirements and proposing technical solutions while considering system architecture, performance, and security. The developer will write high-quality software code with a strong focus on testing, and define and document technical specifications for implementing projects, software modifications, and reports.
  • The role also involves adhering to Gildan's Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology and standards for programming and documentation. Additionally, the developer will document functionality, provide support to Business Analysts, troubleshoot, and resolve ERP/application issues.
  • The developer will actively participate in all phases of project implementation, whether for small or large projects, including pre- and post-implementation activities. They will also provide on-call system support on a rotational basis, covering after-hours and weekends.
