  • Experience: At least 1 year in construction/infrastructure projects, preferably in humanitarian, emergency, or NGO settings
  • Skills:

    • Basic knowledge of construction standards and quality control

    • Ability to read technical drawings and Bills of Quantities (BOQs)

    • Proficient in MS Office; AutoCAD knowledge is a plus

    • Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving abilities

  • Work Environment:
    • Capable of working in challenging, remote camp locations

Project Duration: 3 months (with possible extension based on donor confirmation)

With a presence in 408 upazilas across 53 districts, ESDO supports over 15 million people through initiatives in livelihoods, education, nutrition, women’s empowerment, child rights, health, and youth development. Guided by a community-centered approach, ESDO aligns its efforts with national development goals and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Position: Site Assistant (Construction Support)
Job Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Project Engineer in planning and supervising construction and repair activities.
  • Mobilize community members and facilitate Cash-for-Work (CfW) programs.
  • Oversee day-to-day site development at the camp level, ensuring smooth operations.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and quality of materials/work.
  • Prepare and maintain measurement sheets, inspection reports, and photo documentation.
  • Keep records of tools, equipment, and construction materials.
  • Coordinate with contractors, laborers, and field supervisors to ensure timely execution.
  • Report any technical issues or delays to the Project Engineer.
  • Enforce safety measures on-site and promote community engagement.
  • Monitor contractor performance and assist in verifying and certifying completed works.
  • Generate daily/weekly progress reports with documentation and photos.
  • Communicate regularly with the Project Coordinator and other team members.
  • Support procurement by providing technical input and verifying materials.
  • Participate in stakeholder coordination as needed.
