Diploma in Medical Technology (Laboratory) from any government‑approved institution, including completion of the required internship.
Valid registration with the State Medical Faculty Board.
Ability to maintain quality, safety, and infection prevention and control standards.
Competence in preparing and processing laboratory samples following established protocols.
Ability to monitor and maintain quality control measures in laboratory operations.
Good communication skills with basic proficiency in computer applications.
Ability to work effectively under pressure, including in remote or hard‑to‑reach locations.
Ensure proper care, maintenance, and functionality of all laboratory instruments and equipment.
Perform routine and emergency laboratory procedures in accordance with approved protocols.
Maintain adequate availability of laboratory reagents, consumables, and logistics, ensuring correct storage and safe usage.
Monitor stock levels, initiate requisitions, and support smooth laboratory operations.
Maintain accurate documentation of all laboratory activities, service records, and prepare monthly reports.
Adhere strictly to infection prevention and control (IPC) protocols to protect patients and laboratory personnel.
Participate in required training programs and share knowledge with laboratory assistants.
Ensure proper collection, processing, and handling of biological specimens in compliance with IPC guidelines.
Provide patient counseling regarding correct sample collection procedures.
Conduct blood collection and transfusion‑related testing, following aseptic techniques.
Perform and support scientific investigations and experiments as assigned.
Conduct a wide range of clinical laboratory tests in hematology, microbiology, immunology, clinical chemistry, and urinalysis.
Carry out quantitative and qualitative analyses of body fluids such as blood, urine, and spinal fluid.
Perform blood counts using microscopy and other standard laboratory methods.
Develop, maintain, and test cell and tissue cultures when required.
Isolate and identify specimens using advanced laboratory techniques.
Conduct quality control checks, calibration, and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability of results.
Record, analyze, and report test results in accordance with established procedures.
Plan, set up, and execute controlled experiments and trials.
Record, analyze, and present laboratory data and procedures to senior staff.
Maintain, clean, calibrate, and ensure sterility of laboratory equipment.
Stay updated on scientific and technical advancements relevant to laboratory operations.
Supervise laboratory staff, conduct risk assessments, and manage laboratory resources and inventory.
Perform any other duties related to laboratory operations as assigned.
