Responsibilities & Context

  • Plan, organize, and monitor daily operations of the canteen to ensure smooth functionality.
  • Develop, implement, and oversee procedures for delivering high-quality food service.
  • Lead and manage canteen staff to provide affordable and accessible food options to the campus community.
  • Order and purchase supplies, verifying all deliveries against invoices and receipts.
  • Promote canteen products and services to achieve high daily sales.
  • Implement food safety procedures, ensuring proper food handling and hygiene practices to prevent contamination and spoilage.
  • Train all canteen staff, including volunteers, in correct food handling and hygiene practices per relevant legislation.
  • Maintain security by safeguarding money and keys, setting alarms, locking all access points, and restricting entry to authorized personnel.
  • Ensure daily cleaning of shelves, benches, and equipment in line with the food safety plan.
  • Foster a pleasant working environment that aligns with organizational values and prioritizes the well-being of the campus community.
  • Treat students with respect and dignity; promptly report any issues to the authority in writing.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the authority.
