• Lead and manage a team of junior merchandisers assigned to specific customer accounts, ensuring effective collaboration and task delegation.
• Work collaboratively within the merchandising team while independently handling customer accounts assigned by management.
• Understand and implement the Merchandising Calendar to ensure timely and strategic execution of all tasks.
• Plan and execute product development with both existing and new suppliers; ensure all samples are sent to buyers on time and meet required specifications and quality standards.
• Independently handle costing and consumption calculations for all types of woven garments, providing on-the-spot cost estimations when required.
• Communicate proactively with customers regarding any issues related to delivery timelines or production capacity constraints.
• Identify skill and capability gaps within the team and supplier base, and manage performance through KPIs.
• Develop and enhance supplier capabilities aligned with long-term business strategies while nurturing strong supplier relationships.
• Ensure vendors understand and adhere to the company’s core values, ethics, SOPs, and quality standards.
• Play a key role in strategic planning initiatives, particularly those aimed at operational excellence and continuous improvement.
• Manage the full lifecycle of orders—from product development to final shipment—ensuring alignment with buyer expectations.
• Negotiate effectively with buyers, participate in the bidding process, and secure order confirmations with favorable terms in pricing, quality, and lead time.
• Coordinate with the Planning and Industrial Engineering (IE) departments to align customer orders with factory capacity and production planning.
• Supervise and coordinate daily operational activities related to fabric sourcing, pre-production samples, approvals, and bulk production.
• Follow up rigorously on product development and ensure quality standards are met throughout the production cycle.
• Source raw materials and negotiate pricing to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement.
• Create and monitor internal production tracking plans (CP/TNA), including coordination of inspections to meet on-time shipment targets.
• Liaise closely with planning, production, and commercial teams to ensure timely and accurate shipments.
• Independently manage the entire merchandising process from development, costing, and production through to final shipment.
• Establish and maintain strong, long-term customer relationships, delivering high-quality service to support company growth.
• Oversee communication to buyers regarding production updates, sampling, lab dips, and all relevant product development information.
• Ensure timely availability of fabric and accessories in the factory to meet production schedules.
• Monitor and ensure production progress aligns with plans to meet delivery deadlines.
• Maintain all relevant reports (production status, shipment tracking, costing, etc.) accurately and promptly.
• Coordinate with the commercial team to ensure accuracy of shipping documents, timely shipment advice, and payment follow-ups.
• Lead the team effectively, with strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
• Resolve issues proactively and efficiently, demonstrating strong troubleshooting capabilities.
• Possess comprehensive knowledge of sample and bulk production processes, and import/export documentation.
• Communicate persuasively with buyers through proactive, professional correspondence.
• Exhibit excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Remain dedicated to completing daily responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner.
• Perform any other duties or assignments as directed by management.
