Requirements

Education


  • Bachelor/Honors, Bachelor of Science (BSc), Engineers specializing in Electrical or Mechanical engineering holding a membership with the IEB is encouraged.
  • Masters, Candidates must have a postgraduate degree from any recognized university. Preferably in a science-related field.

Experience


  • 8 Year to 10 Year

Additional Requirements


  • Experience with Garment Industry will be given preference.
  • Having experience on RSC, Nirapon and Knowledge in BNBC, NFPA and other safety regulations.
  • Having certificate of training from the Bangladesh Fire Service and Civil Defense (FSCD) or any recognized institution.
  • Having certificate of NIOSH/NEBOSH, ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018 will get additional preference.
  • Able to work under pressure and complete the task within a preset time-frame
  • Proactive, sense of responsibility, self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Should have good analytical power and communication skills to resolve issues.
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Critical thinker and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities & Context

  • Work closely with other department heads, including Human Resources, Compliance, Operations, and Legal, to integrate safety into all aspects of facility operations.
  • Coordinate with factory management and other teams to ensure that safety policies are consistently followed and that the workplace is compliant with relevant regulations.
  • Investigation & Reporting:
  • Conduct investigations into any fire safety-related accidents or incidents, preparing detailed reports and recommending corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with management to analyze and address the root causes of accidents.
  • Fire Safety Equipment Management:
  • Regularly review and inspect all firefighting equipment to ensure it is in good condition and compliant with RSC standards and fire license requirements.
  • Lead the team responsible for the maintenance and operation of fire safety equipment, ensuring their readiness for emergency situations.
  • Safety Committees & Campaigns:
  • Actively participate in safety committees, contributing to safety campaigns, initiatives, and training.
  • Recognize individuals or teams for their contributions to safety, fostering a safety-focused work culture.
  • Regulatory Compliance:
  • Liaise with regulatory authorities to ensure that the facility remains compliant with all safety-related certifications, registrations, and regulations.
  • Stay updated with changes in safety regulations and ensure the facility adapts accordingly.
  • Additional Responsibilities:
  • Handle and lead fire safety audits independently, ensuring the Fire Safety team is well-coordinated and aligned with the company’s objectives.
  • Take on any other tasks related to fire safety and safety compliance as assigned by the management.
  • Qualifications:
  • Experience:
  • Proven experience in managing fire safety and workplace safety programs within an industrial or manufacturing setting.
  • Experience in fire safety audits, risk assessments, and the implementation of corrective actions.
  • Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of fire safety systems, including fire alarm and suppression systems.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage safety teams and ensure adherence to safety standards.
  • Familiarity with safety compliance regulations and certifications, including RSC standards.
  • Strong investigative and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with different departments and stakeholders.
  • Educational Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Occupational Health and Safety, Fire Safety, or a related field.
  • Certification in fire safety management, safety audits, or other relevant qualifications is a plus.
  • Personal Attributes:
  • Highly proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work under pressure.
  • Ability to independently manage fire safety audits and lead safety initiatives.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
