  • Handling top end customers, quick turnaround, high quality garments and different fabrics and for strict quality assurance and compliance standards
  • First hand communication experience with customer technical teams, manufactures to get the job done as expected date and standards
  • Knowledge of all quality control and assurance techniques, fabric and garment performance, chemical and wear trial procedure, ergonomics, work place engineering, 5S and work simplifying techniques, AQL sampling and auditing skills, productivity improvement techniques, garment breakdowns, machines and their features, material handling systems and production systems, line balancing techniques, the different types of fabric, dying, printing, embellishments and finishing techniques and handling methods
  • Exposure and competency in all types of garments with high embellishments, prints and washing
  • Familiarity with relevant quality certifications (e.g., ISO 9001, AQL standards, GOTS) and local regulatory requirements
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies
  • Excellent leadership qualities, proven ability to motivate and bring out the best in people
  • Experience in training QA teams, improving operational efficiency, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement
  • Strong problem-solving abilities to identify quality issues early in the process and implement timely solutions
  • Ability to interact professionally with diverse colleagues, clients, and customers culturally and linguistically

Responsibilities & Context

  • Understand customer fabric and finished product quality, fit, test, measurement, and packing requirements.
  • Conduct fabric, sample, and style handover meetings with factories and suppliers.
  • Maintain communication and serve as a liaison between the factory and business unit teams.
  • Ensure that the highest quality standards and customer specifications are maintained throughout the production process.
  • Coordinate with the Production Planning & Control (PPC) team to assist in creating optimal production plans.
  • Ensure the highest quality in initial and bulk production while minimizing wastage.
  • Design, plan, and closely follow up with vendors to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Participate in the sampling and pre-production process, liaising with merchandisers and vendors to ensure proper handover for first-time sample approval.
  • Verify that all technical requirements (grading, tests, etc.) align with customer specifications.
  • Implement and ensure product safety requirements are met in factories to mitigate potential risks.
  • Conduct fitting and quality checks according to order specifications to avoid defects and ensure sample approval.
  • Cross-check and confirm grading of the size set, then conduct a proper pre-production meeting after PPS and size set approval.
  • Confirm final approval for fabrics and trim cards.
  • Conduct line reviews or first bulk reviews for complex orders to prevent defective outcomes.
  • Monitor fabric and trim consumption, analyzing data to optimize costs.
  • Ensure that the QA and QC teams receive complete style files with details and sample approvals as per the Time & Action (T&A) plan.
  • Follow up on production and quality verification schedules to meet shipment deadlines.
  • Analyze customer requirements and provide technical support to maintain smooth communication.
  • Work with DQM and the Quality General Manager to plan and deliver training to the quality team to enhance their technical, quality, and operational skills.
  • Apply knowledge of product safety when selecting trims to minimize hazards.
  • Plan daily and weekly inspections and generate corresponding reports.
  • Monitor the initial layout setting and production processes to avoid defective final products.
  • Conduct random audits to ensure PPS and size set comments are implemented during bulk production and address any gaps identified during the first bulk review.
  • Ensure bulk production is carried out according to PPS, tech packs, trim cards, and other approved specifications.
  • Evaluate the current quality system, identify discrepancies, and resolve them to improve system efficiency.
  • Ensure that QC, QA, and Independent Quality Auditors (IQA) perform thorough inspections, testing, and audits to avoid FRI failures, last-minute short shipments, and unexpected issues.
