  • Handling top end customers, quick turnaround, high quality garments and different fabrics and for strict quality assurance and compliance standards
  • First hand communication experience with customer technical teams, manufactures to get the job done as expected date and standards
  • Knowledge of all quality control and assurance techniques, fabric and garment performance, chemical and wear trial procedure, ergonomics, work place engineering, 5S and work simplifying techniques, AQL sampling and auditing skills, productivity improvement techniques, garment breakdowns, machines and their features, material handling systems and production systems, line balancing techniques, the different types of fabric, dying, printing, embellishments and finishing techniques and handling methods
  • Exposure and competency in all types of garments with high embellishments, prints and washing
  • Familiarity with relevant quality certifications (e.g., ISO 9001, AQL standards, GOTS) and local regulatory requirements
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies
  • Excellent leadership qualities, proven ability to motivate and bring out the best in people
  • Experience in training QA teams, improving operational efficiency, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement
  • Strong problem-solving abilities to identify quality issues early in the process and implement timely solutions
  • Ability to interact professionally with diverse colleagues, clients, and customers culturally and linguistically

Responsibilities & Context

  • Be actively involved in sampling and pre-production processes. Coordinate with merchandisers and vendors to ensure proper handover, facilitating first-time sample approval.
  • Ensure customer requirements for fit, quality, testing, measurements, and other specifications are met.
  • Maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for quality, and address any quality and technical issues during production. Provide timely solutions to ensure on-time delivery and zero quality claims.
  • Review audit findings daily, identify corrective actions, and ensure shipments meet the customer's agreed-upon quality parameters.
  • Review daily laboratory testing reports, identify any failures, take corrective actions to resolve issues, and guide factories and quality assurance (QA) teams accordingly.
  • Address daily issues that arise at factories, collaborating with the QA team to implement quick solutions and providing necessary guidance.
  • Conduct pre-production (PP) meetings with relevant stakeholders to identify areas for improvement and offer guidance to both the QA and Merchandising teams.
  • Ensure that the QC style files are submitted on time, with accuracy and completeness of all necessary documents and formats.
  • Monitor QA and QC performance monthly, reporting to the GM of Quality and Compliance.
  • Collaborate with PPC to review weekly, monthly, and quarterly plans, ensuring optimal use of QA/QC personnel and the proper staffing to manage workloads efficiently.
  • Review technical risk assessments and educate the QA team on actions to be taken during production to avoid issues during bulk production.
  • Ensure that necessary test reports for yarns and trims are included in the QC files and collaborate with factories to ensure that bulk production meets the required standards agreed upon with customers (e.g., AZO testing).
  • Ensure proper implementation of PPS comments and any buyer-specific instructions at the size set stage. Conduct random audits to confirm that PPS and Size Set comments are implemented during bulk production, followed by a first bulk review to identify and address any gaps.
  • Work with the GM to provide ongoing training for the QA team to update and enhance their technical, quality, and operational skills.
  • Provide weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports to management through the GM.
  • Hold monthly QA meetings with the GM to review the QA team’s performance, identify areas for improvement, and agree on time-bound action plans.
