Qualifications:

  • PhD or Equivalent Degree in Law:

    • Strong academic record with at least 10 years of active service experience, including a minimum of 5 years as an Assistant Professor.
    • Alternatively, 14 years of active university service, with at least 5 years as an Associate Professor.

  • MPhil or Equivalent Degree in Law:

    • Strong academic record with at least 12 years of active service experience, including a minimum of 6 years as an Assistant Professor.
    • Alternatively, 16 years of active university service, with at least 6 years as an Associate Professor.

  • LLM Degree in Law:

    • Strong academic record with at least 15 years of active service experience, including a minimum of 7 years as an Assistant Professor.
    • Alternatively, 20 years of active university service, with at least 8 years as an Associate Professor.

Additional Requirements:

  • For Associate Professor:

    • Minimum of 10 publications, with at least 5 authored or co-authored during the tenure as an Assistant Professor.

  • For Professor:

    • Minimum of 15 research publications in peer-reviewed journals or reviewed books in related disciplines, with at least 7 published during the tenure as an Associate Professor.

  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching, with the ability to engage students in diverse learning environments.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficiency in IT.

  • Commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive learning environment.

  • Willingness to work in a rural setting and contribute to the intellectual growth of the university community.

  • Fluency in both Bengali and English.


Responsibilities & Context

ZHSUST is seeking a qualified and experienced scholar to join the Department of Law as an Associate Professor, who is dedicated to both teaching and research. Become part of our collaborative faculty, help shape the next generation of lawyers, and contribute to the intellectual development of the ZHSUST community. We provide a fulfilling experience in a supportive environment; however, adaptability and a willingness to embrace a rural setting are essential.

  • Teach a diverse range of law courses.
  • Develop and deliver new courses that align with the department’s curriculum.
  • Supervise and mentor students.
  • Conduct research in your area of expertise and publish scholarly articles in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Contribute to the university’s service activities, including committee work and program development.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the department or the university.
