• Ensure the cutting processes run efficiently, including monitoring machinery performance and the quality of cuts.
• Collaborate with production teams to ensure the cutting department meets production deadlines and targets.
• Oversee and manage the cutting team, ensuring workers are trained and adhere to safety protocols and procedures.
• Ensure all materials are cut to the correct specifications, minimizing waste and maximizing product quality.
• Track and review the cutting department’s output for consistency, identifying areas for improvement.
• Identify bottlenecks in the cutting process and propose solutions to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
• Ensure cutting tools and machinery are regularly maintained, addressing any issues promptly to avoid downtime.
• Manage raw material availability for cutting, ensuring accurate tracking and timely supply.
• Maximize material utilization by minimizing waste during the cutting process.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards in the cutting area, including conducting regular inspections and risk assessments.
• Oversee the training of staff on safety protocols, machine operation, and best practices.
• Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) for the cutting department, focusing on productivity, quality, and material usage.
• Work closely with other departments (e.g., production, quality control, logistics) to align operations and resolve any challenges.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to cutting department staff, fostering skill development and knowledge growth.
• Address any issues or conflicts within the cutting team or with other departments.
• Ensure the cutting department operates within the allocated budget, focusing on cost-effective use of resources and materials.
• Seek opportunities to reduce waste, lower costs, and improve the overall cost-effectiveness of the department.
• Perform any other tasks as assigned by management.
