  • BRTA Regulatory & Transport Management: Strong understanding of BRTA regulations, general administration, transport documentation, and transport services. Knowledge of transport maintenance and management practices is essential.
  • Maintenance Processes & Safety Standards: In-depth knowledge of maintenance processes, including technical support for vehicle and equipment systems, with a strong focus on safety standards.
  • Record-Keeping & Cost Analysis: Proven ability to maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including cost analysis, inventory management, and financial tracking for transport operations.
  • ERP & MS Office Proficiency: Familiarity with ERP systems for managing operations and proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for reporting and data analysis.
  • Leadership & Team Management: Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team of technicians and staff.
  • Communication & Problem-Solving: Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) for coordinating with stakeholders and resolving operational issues. Strong problem-solving abilities to address challenges and optimize operations.

Responsibilities & Context

  • Breakdown Maintenance & Corrective Actions: Perform breakdown maintenance and corrective actions on all equipment and technical fittings related to vehicles and cold storage refrigeration systems (including chillers and freezers), ensuring high-quality and timely completion of tasks.

  • Maintenance Documentation: Maintain detailed checklists, log sheets, and records to ensure compliance with maintenance standards, schedules, and operational guidelines.

  • Routine Checks & Temperature Monitoring: Conduct daily routine checks on refrigeration systems (cold storage, freezers, and vehicle refrigeration) to ensure consistent temperature control.

  • Technical Support & Guidance: Provide technical support to maintenance technicians working with freezer units, ensuring adherence to service standards, work instructions, and customer requirements.

  • Safety & Compliance: Ensure the safety and well-being of the maintenance team by preventing harm, abuse, neglect, harassment, and exploitation, in line with organizational safeguarding policies.

  • Reporting & Updates: Maintain daily logs, records, and reports of all maintenance activities and provide regular updates to supervisors on a daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.

  • Spare Parts Management: Track and monitor spare parts consumption, providing monthly reports on depot-wise usage, and prepare requisitions for required materials and spare parts for freezer maintenance.

  • Budget Management & Cost Control: Analyze maintenance cost variances, identify trends, and prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual maintenance budgets, ensuring operations stay within budget.

  • Stock & Inventory Management: Oversee stock management, requisitions, and consumption of materials via ERP systems for national operations, ensuring accurate inventory records.

  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor equipment performance through regular data analysis and implement corrective actions to optimize equipment functionality.

  • Preventive & Breakdown Maintenance Execution: Ensure timely execution of both preventive and breakdown maintenance tasks, maintaining high operational standards.

  • Team Management: Assign supervisors and technicians to specific maintenance tasks, ensuring all work is completed on time and adheres to safety and operational standards.

  • Training & Development: Design and implement training programs to improve the technical skills of the team and enhance service delivery.

  • Additional Duties: Perform any other assignments given by the supervisor or management.
