Experience with Knit & Woven Fabrics:

  • Must have expertise in both knit and woven fabrics.

Fabric Knowledge:

  • Deep understanding of various knit and woven fabrics, their properties, and applications, enabling informed decisions in sourcing and product development.

Work Experience:

  • 2-4 years of experience in merchandising, sourcing, or product development within the garment industry, preferably in a buying house or similar environment.

Sourcing Expertise:

  • Proven ability to source high-quality materials and negotiate with suppliers, optimizing costs and lead times.

Merchandising Skills:

  • Strong experience in creating merchandising strategies that align with market trends, enhance product visibility, and drive sales. Specialized knowledge of knit and woven garment merchandising, understanding the distinct characteristics of each to guide product development and marketing efforts.

Product Development Acumen:

  • Experience working with design teams to develop and launch new collections, managing the product lifecycle from concept to approval.

Production Management:

  • Familiarity with production processes and timelines, with the ability to coordinate with factories to ensure timely order execution.

Sample Follow-Up:

  • Proven experience in managing the sampling process, ensuring timely feedback and approvals to meet production schedules.

TNA Planning Knowledge:

  • Expertise in developing and managing Time and Action (TNA) plans to monitor project milestones and ensure alignment among stakeholders throughout the production cycle.

Factory Coordination:

  • Excellent communication skills, with a strong ability to follow up with factories daily and resolve issues promptly to maintain production schedules.

Attention to Detail:

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, ensuring all merchandising activities meet high standards.

Trend Awareness:

  • Passion for fashion and a sharp eye for emerging trends, utilizing market insights to drive product innovation and sales strategies.

Problem-Solving:

  • Effective problem-solving skills, enabling quick resolution of production issues or delays to keep projects on track.

Collaboration and Teamwork:

  • Ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration and open communication between design, sales, and production teams.

  • Costing and Pricing Strategy: Develop and implement pricing strategies that account for market conditions, production costs, and competitive positioning, ensuring profitability while remaining competitive and attractive to customers.

  • Team Leadership: Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing sales and marketing team, fostering a collaborative, creative, and continuously improving environment. Conduct training sessions to enhance the team’s expertise in fabric qualities and merchandising strategies.

  • Communication and Relationship Management: Cultivate strong relationships with key clients, stakeholders, and industry partners. Effectively communicate our product value propositions, ensuring that client needs are not only met but exceeded.

  • Market Analysis and Insights: Conduct thorough market research and analysis to stay ahead of industry trends and customer preferences. Use these insights to guide strategic decision-making and adapt marketing strategies as needed.
