Responsibilities & Context

  • Possess strong practical knowledge and understanding of various types of fibers, blends, and compositions, both natural and man-made.
  • Have clear and in-depth knowledge of different knit fabric structures, designs, fabric count, GSM, diameter, stitch length, gauge, and other characteristics across a variety of natural and man-made fabrics, ensuring desired quality.
  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of dyeing procedures and characteristics, such as reactive, disperse, cross-dyeing, cool pigments, CPB, and more.
  • Have excellent practical knowledge of fabric finishing and chemical properties, with the ability to independently manage sample fabric finishing while maintaining desired quality.
  • Familiar with various special finishes, such as wicking, anti-microbial, soil release, flame retardant, and other trending finishes.
  • Have strong expertise in different AOP techniques, including pigment, discharge, and reactive printing, across both flatbed and rotary methods.
  • Possess excellent knowledge of garment dyeing and wash techniques, including pigment dyeing, tie-dye, reactive dyeing, acid wash, stone wash, and other innovative techniques.
  • Have a comprehensive understanding of fabric cutting, pattern-making, marker-making, sewing, and finishing processes.
  • Familiar with world-class buyer testing manuals, methods, and related protocols.
  • Possess a clear understanding of various textile testing procedures, including dry/wet rubbing, bursting, pilling, fastness, and others, for both fabric and garment forms.
  • Act as a reliable team player, responsible for data management, providing clear and concise data for smooth bulk production, facilitating PP meetings, and troubleshooting during both sample and bulk stages.
  • Capable of providing valuable merchant feedback regarding scheduled sample fabric delivery, ensuring proper quality and quantity within deadlines. Additionally, able to provide comprehensive feedback via email and documentation about any limitations of the developed fabric.
