  • BRTA Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to all relevant BRTA (Bangladesh Road Transport Authority) regulations and requirements for fleet operations, ensuring compliance with safety, registration, and transport documentation.
  • General Administration: Oversee the day-to-day administrative functions of the transport department, ensuring smooth operations, coordination, and documentation.
  • Transport Documentation: Manage and maintain all transport-related documentation, including vehicle registration, insurance, permits, and other legal documents to ensure compliance with local regulations.
  • Transport Maintenance: Supervise and coordinate regular maintenance schedules for fleet vehicles, ensuring the upkeep of vehicles according to safety standards, operational efficiency, and company requirements.
  • Transport Management: Efficiently manage the entire transport fleet, including route optimization, performance monitoring, and the allocation of resources for optimal operational performance.
  • Transport Service: Oversee the planning and provision of transport services, ensuring timely deliveries and safe operations for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintenance Processes & Technical Support: Possess in-depth knowledge of vehicle maintenance processes, providing technical support as needed while ensuring compliance with safety standards and efficient operation.
  • Cost Analysis & Record Maintenance: Ensure accurate record-keeping of all transport-related activities, performing cost analysis to identify areas for cost-saving and improving operational efficiency.
  • ERP Systems & MS Office Proficiency: Utilize ERP systems for managing transport-related tasks and MS Office applications for documentation, reporting, and communication purposes.
  • Leadership & Team Management: Demonstrate strong leadership and management skills, guiding a team towards operational goals while fostering collaboration and maintaining high performance standards.
  • Communication & Problem-Solving: Exhibit excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with internal teams, external stakeholders, and service providers. Proactively address and resolve operational challenges to maintain efficient transport operations.

Responsibilities & Context

Diagnostics and Repairs:

  • Supervise and perform advanced diagnostics and repair work on a variety of vehicle brands, including ASHOK LEYLAND (PARTNER), HINO, EICHER, and JMC, with a focus on engines, transmissions, and electrical systems.
Maintenance Execution:
  • Assist in executing preventive and breakdown maintenance tasks with corrective actions on fleet vehicles, ensuring timely completion and adherence to safety and operational standards.
Compliance and Documentation:
  • Maintain compliance with maintenance schedules and standards by updating comprehensive log sheets, checklists, and records. Prepare detailed reports on all maintenance activities to ensure consistent vehicle performance.
Route and Trip Support:
  • Provide technical support during vehicle trips, including route selection and troubleshooting issues, to ensure product safety and operational efficiency.
  • Monitor vehicle trips and performance, offering follow-ups to optimize route efficiency and vehicle capacity utilization.
Performance Reporting:
  • Submit regular updates on maintenance performance to supervisors on a daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.
Budget Management:
  • Prepare and manage maintenance budgets (monthly, quarterly, and annually), analyzing cost variances and trends to ensure adherence to budgetary limits.
Spare Parts Management:
  • Monitor and track spare parts usage, preparing requisitions and monthly consumption reports via the ERP system. Forecast future material requirements and ensure timely inventory replenishment.
Stakeholder Communication:
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication (both verbal and written) with stakeholders and officials to address operational challenges and resolve escalations.
Safety and Workplace Standards:
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work environment in all maintenance areas.
Training and Development:
  • Develop and participate in training programs for drivers and mechanics, focusing on technical skills, safety protocols, and overall service enhancement.
Additional Assignments:
  • Perform any additional tasks or responsibilities assigned by the supervisor or management.
