Education


  • Diploma, Three years degree on Midwifery preferably from Government affiliated institutions. Licensure: Valid medical license to practice in the region/country.

Experience


  • 5 Year

Additional Requirements


  • At least 5 years of experience in midwifery activities related to maternal and child health, with a preference for experience in emergency obstetric and neonatal care (BEmONC).
  • Sound knowledge on the Bangladesh health system; experience in working with Hospital settings and UN Cluster or other stakeholders in both development and emergency setting.
  • Ability to manage and mentor medical staff.
  • Strong clinical knowledge and expertise.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle medical emergencies.

Responsibilities & Context

  • Oversee and ensure the smooth implementation of Sexual Reproductive Maternal Newborn Health (SRMNH) midwifery activities.
  • Provide clinical leadership in midwifery, including diagnosis, midwifery case management, and newborn care.
  • Lead neonatal resuscitation efforts and ensure safe referral practices.
  • Plan, organize, and supervise midwifery activities related to maternal and newborn care.
  • Collaborate closely with other medical staff to ensure high-quality midwifery care delivery.
  • Manage midwifery resources efficiently to support program goals.
  • Contribute to the professional development of midwifery staff through training, guidance, and support.
  • Coordinate with cross-thematic areas such as MHPSS, the CHW team, the GBV focal point, and CP.
  • Ensure the integration of midwifery activities with broader health and protection programs.
