PROTTYASHI, a social development organization, has been actively responding to the Rohingya Crisis in Cox’s Bazar and Bhasan Char since its inception. The organization is now implementing a project funded by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) aimed at enhancing the self-reliance of the Rohingya population. Applications are invited for the position of Business Development Officer under the project titled “Supporting Rohingya Refugees and Host Communities in Cox's Bazar and Bhasan Char, Bangladesh.”
The Business Development Officer will report directly to the Project Coordinator of PROTTYASHI. The position requires close coordination and functional collaboration with peers, project team members, and other organizational departments, both programmatic and operational.
Identify, design, and promote off-farm livelihood opportunities among targeted Rohingya communities to enhance income and self-reliance.
Conduct market assessments and value chain analyses to explore potential non-farming enterprises such as handicrafts, tailoring, small trading, food processing, and service-oriented businesses.
Facilitate business planning, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy training to build beneficiaries’ business management skills.
Support the formation and strengthening of producer groups, business associations, and micro-enterprises to ensure sustainable off-farm livelihoods.
Develop market linkages and partnerships with the private sector, financial institutions, and service providers to enhance access to input and output markets.
Assist beneficiaries with product development, quality assurance, pricing, packaging, and branding to increase market competitiveness.
Coordinate with government agencies, local institutions, and market stakeholders to foster inclusive business models and a supportive environment for enterprise growth.
Monitor and track the progress of off-farm businesses, providing technical assistance, mentorship, and follow-up support to ensure long-term viability.
Assist the Project Coordinator in preparing reports, case studies, and documenting best practices and lessons learned.
Uphold and ensure compliance with PROTTYASHI’s safeguarding, PSEA, and Code of Conduct policies in all program operations and field activities.
