Essential Qualifications
Experience
- At least 2 years of professional experience in Protection, Gender, Child Protection (CP), Community-Based Protection (CBP), GBV, Case Management, PSS, Safeguarding, or PSEAH-related programs.

Responsibilities & Context
PSEA, Safeguarding & Community Awareness – 60%
- Conduct culturally sensitive awareness sessions on GBV, child protection, gender equality, SRHR, and other protection-related issues.
- Regularly review and update referral pathways to ensure timely access to appropriate services.
- Establish and strengthen Community-Based Protection Committees to identify and respond to protection concerns within FDMN communities.
- Conduct training sessions and regular meetings to enhance committee members’ understanding of protection issues and response mechanisms.
- Facilitate community consultations to identify protection risks and develop appropriate mitigation measures.
- Support training for community volunteers and program participants on protection principles, safeguarding, SRHR, GBV, and Psychological First Aid (PFA).
- Verify eligible rightsholders before conducting project activities.
- Maintain Safe Spaces, Community Centres, and Women-Friendly Spaces (WFS) within target locations.
- Organize recreational and supportive activities for women and girls in safe spaces.
- Facilitate capacity-building sessions for men and boys on gender equality, gender stereotypes, GBV prevention and response, survivor-centred approaches, and referral mechanisms.
- Conduct awareness sessions on GBV prevention, child protection, PSS, SRHR, and community-based protection.
- Distribute IEC and SBCC materials to support community awareness activities.
- Assist in developing training modules and materials for community engagement and capacity-building initiatives.
- Facilitate livelihood and life-enhancement activities for female beneficiaries at camp level.
- Ensure safeguarding standards are consistently applied to protect project participants and staff.
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and gender-responsive working environment.
- Support female volunteers and persons with disabilities in achieving project objectives.
- Mentor and guide volunteers to improve performance, accountability, and service quality.
- Identify volunteers’ training and development needs and coordinate with project management to address capacity gaps.
- Support the delivery of capacity-building sessions for volunteers.
- Conduct household visits and support volunteers in identifying GBV cases and other protection concerns.
Monitoring, Evaluation & Knowledge Management – 15%
- Monitor the effectiveness of referral systems and protection services.
- Participate in team meetings to share field-level findings, knowledge, and recommendations for program improvement.
- Support research, data collection, monitoring, and impact assessments in accordance with the MEAL framework.
- Support the effective implementation and regular monitoring of the Complaint and Feedback Response Mechanism (CFRM).
- Assist in conducting Kobo surveys, demographic assessments, baseline and endline surveys, and gender-related data analysis.
Financial Management – 10%
- Ensure timely and compliant payments to volunteers and casual workers in accordance with Islamic Relief guidelines.
- Support financial transactions related to cash assistance and other project activities.
- Maintain financial documentation, including bills, vouchers, purchase requisitions, money requisitions, and cash advance records.
- Ensure financial records and reporting comply with organizational requirements.
Reporting & Documentation – 10%
- Support the documentation and reporting of project activities, including training sessions, awareness campaigns, and community interventions.
- Prepare and submit regular weekly, monthly, and quarterly progress updates to project management.
- Maintain proper records of referrals and prepare daily, weekly, and monthly referral reports.
- Document case stories, field experiences, best practices, and lessons learned.
Other Responsibilities – 5%
- Participate in seasonal humanitarian programs such as Ramadan, Qurbani, Winterization, and similar initiatives.
- Support measures to ensure the safety and security of project staff, volunteers, and participants.
- Travel regularly to remote and field-level project locations as required.
- Comply with Islamic Relief’s Child Protection, PSEA, Safeguarding, and other relevant organizational policies.
