• Bachelor/Honors, Bachelor's degree from a reputed University in Fashion Design & Technology or BA/BS in Production, Product Development, or equivalent combination of education.

• Conduct thorough market research to identify and analyze national and international denim trends, patterns, fabrics, colors, and washes.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging trends in the denim industry by attending denim fairs like Denim by Première Vision and Kingpins.
• Design Creation:
• Develop and conceptualize seasonal denim collections that align with market trends while ensuring high-quality designs.
• Focus on integrating innovative designs with the brand’s identity and customer preferences.
• Maintain a high level of creativity and originality while staying within the framework of brand aesthetics and customer requirements.
• Tech-Pack Development:
• Create detailed tech packs for development merchandisers, ensuring accurate material specifications, wash instructions, trims, embellishments, and technical details.
• Ensure that tech packs are clear, concise, and meet the brand's production standards, facilitating seamless execution in manufacturing.
• Fabric & Wash Knowledge:
• Demonstrate strong knowledge of denim fabric types, characteristics, and sourcing, ensuring the correct selection of materials based on design and quality requirements.
• Provide expertise in denim washing techniques to achieve the desired finish and ensure consistency in product quality.
• Trims & Embellishments Sourcing:
• Source and select trims, embellishments, embroidery, prints, and other design elements, ensuring that they align with the overall vision of the collection.
• Work with suppliers to ensure the quality and timely delivery of all sourced materials.
• Collaboration with International Brands:
• Work closely with international brands to understand their design requirements, ensuring that the designs align with their market positioning and customer needs.
• Implement the brand aesthetics while integrating global design trends and local market preferences.
• Fair Participation & Networking:
• Represent the brand at major denim fairs, such as Denim by Première Vision and Kingpins, to network with suppliers, stay informed about the latest industry developments, and gather inspiration for future collections.
• Product Development & Implementation:
• Collaborate with the production and merchandising teams to ensure that designs are accurately translated from concept to finished product.
• Address any challenges that arise during the development or production phase to ensure that timelines and quality standards are met.
• Quality Assurance:
• Ensure all denim products meet high-quality standards in terms of fabric, finish, trims, and overall design.
• Continuously evaluate and improve the quality of denim products by staying informed about the latest fabric technologies and market trends.
• Qualifications:
• Educational Background:
• A degree from NIFT or similar institutions with a specialization in denim or fashion design.
• Experience:
• Proven experience in denim design with a focus on fabric, wash knowledge, and technical design.
• Strong exposure to working with international brands and an understanding of their aesthetics and design requirements.
