Responsibilities & Context

Strategic Communication Planning:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive communication strategy that aligns with the NGO’s goals and mission.
  • Identify target audiences and tailor messages to effectively engage them.
 
Content Creation:
  • Produce high-quality content for various platforms, including newsletters, press releases, social media, and the organization’s website.
  • Create compelling stories, case studies, and success narratives that showcase the impact of the NGO’s work.
 
Media Relations:
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists, bloggers, and media outlets.
  • Prepare press kits and manage press releases to ensure accurate, positive coverage of the NGO’s initiatives.
Social Media Management:
  • Oversee and manage the NGO’s social media presence, creating engaging content and monitoring interactions.
  • Analyze social media metrics to evaluate the success of campaigns and adjust strategies as needed.
 
Internal Communication:
  • Facilitate effective communication between departments to ensure cohesive messaging and collaboration.
  • Organize and manage internal communication tools and channels.
 
Event Promotion:
  • Support the planning, promotion, and execution of events, workshops, and campaigns to boost visibility and engagement.
  • Coordinate logistics for media coverage and public participation during events.
 
Monitoring and Evaluation:
  • Track and analyze the outcomes of communication strategies to inform future efforts.
  • Prepare reports on communication activities and their contribution to the NGO’s objectives.
 
Integrity:
  • Uphold Cordaid’s integrity standards, adhering to its Integrity Framework and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Actively contribute to a safe and trusting environment through dialogue, trust, and adherence to integrity standards.
 
Other Duties:
  • Support the project’s security and risk management system by identifying and analyzing potential risks, communicating issues, and recommending mitigation strategies.
  • Perform other relevant tasks as assigned by the supervisor to support program implementation and other project outputs.
