Job Description:

• Community Mobilisation and Awareness:

  • Engage individuals with mental health issues, their carers, and community members through outreach activities.
  • Organize awareness sessions to educate the community on mental health issues and reduce stigma.
  • Distribute educational materials on mental health and well-being.
  • Mobilize beneficiaries for mental health camps, facilitating assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and conducting follow-up visits in the community and homes.

• Support for Mental Health and Wellbeing:

  • Facilitate peer support groups for individuals with mental health issues and their carers.
  • Provide basic psychosocial support and refer individuals to professional services when needed.
  • Connect beneficiaries with healthcare providers and other essential services.

• Capacity Building and Training:

  • Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance mental health support skills.
  • Support healthcare workers, community leaders, and volunteers in implementing mental health interventions.

• Monitoring and Reporting:

  • Maintain records of community engagement and beneficiary participation.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to the Project Field Manager.
  • Assist in data collection and feedback to assess the impact of project interventions.

• Safeguarding Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to CDD's safeguarding policy to ensure the safety and well-being of all participants.
  • Create a safe and secure environment for project participants and stakeholders.
  • Report safeguarding concerns promptly and follow designated reporting procedures.

• Additional Responsibilities:

  • Perform any other tasks or special duties assigned by project and CDD management.

• Centre for Disability in Development (CDD) is a non-profit organization established in 1996 focused on creating a more inclusive society for individuals with disabilities.
• CDD builds technical capacities of development stakeholders and communities, enabling persons with disabilities to participate in society by enhancing leadership and providing rehabilitation and support.
• CDD is recognized for its work in disability-inclusive development and has received national and international recognition, including the Ramon Magsaysay Award in 2010.
• Project: ‘Promoting the sustainability of wellbeing programmes for carers of persons with disabilities and mental health conditions’ in Savar and Dinajpur, supported by Carers Worldwide.
• Employment: The selected candidate will be hired for an initial three-month probation period, with the possibility of annual contract renewal after successful completion.
