  • Environmental Management System (EMS), MRSL, and Chemical Management: In-depth understanding of environmental systems, Restricted Substances List (MRSL) compliance, and effective chemical management.
  • Compliance with Industry Standards: Sound knowledge of compliance requirements for social, technical, safety, sustainability, and various standards including BSCI, OCS, Oeko-Tex, SEDEX, WRAP, CT-PAT, RSC (Fire, Electrical, Structural), GOTS, HIGG Index, FEM, SLCP, FSLM, and Supply Chain Sustainability.
  • RMG Garments Industry: Applicants should have prior experience in the Ready-Made Garments (RMG) sector, with familiarity in managing compliance, sustainability, and safety standards.
  • Additional Requirements:
  • Regulatory and Legal Compliance: Familiarity with regulatory requirements and legal frameworks in both local and international contexts, ensuring adherence to industry-specific guidelines.
  • Audit and Risk Management: Extensive experience conducting internal audits and performing risk management assessments to identify and address compliance gaps.

Responsibilities & Context

  • Factory Preparation: Prepare and develop factories for buyer visits or third-party audits, ensuring all required documents are up to date as per the specifications of various auditors and buyers.
  • Corrective Action Plans: Prepare and implement Corrective Action Plans (CAP), liaising with the concerned authorities and sharing them with buyers and auditors for timely execution.
  • Internal Audits: Conduct internal audits in accordance with the Buyers' Code of Conduct and ensure adherence to compliance requirements.
  • Risk and Safety Management: Identify hazards, assess risks, and communicate them to the relevant departments for corrective measures.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Develop policies and procedures to address HR & Compliance issues and maintain a regulatory compliance calendar for tracking renewals, new project needs, and expiration dates.
  • Licenses and Certifications: Collect, update, and ensure the renewal of all necessary licenses, certifications, and permissions to maintain compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Audit and Risk Monitoring: Perform periodic audits, proactively address gaps in compliance, and resolve potential compliance risks.
  • Factory Safety and Security: Ensure factory safety and security, working professionally to address any safety concerns.
  • Dispute Resolution: Resolve employee grievances in a proactive manner and maintain positive industrial relations between workers, floor staff, and top management.
  • Liaison with Departments: Coordinate with merchandising, production, QA, and other departments to ensure smooth buyer visits and audits, adhering to buyers' compliance instructions.
  • HR Planning and Development: Ensure HR plans align with business needs and are adaptable to organizational changes, identifying and coordinating training and development programs for employees.
  • Performance Management: Work with HR and functional heads to enhance the Performance Management System and ensure the retention of top talent, fostering a performance-driven culture.
  • Employee Training: Lead employee training sessions on legal and compliance issues, ensuring all staff are informed of relevant guidelines.
  • Supervision: Supervise compliance officers and team, ensuring daily compliance and regulatory activities are managed effectively.
  • Reporting: Provide daily reports to management regarding ongoing factory activities and compliance matters.
  • Periodic Review: Review and evaluate company procedures to identify hidden risks, ensuring continuous improvement and adherence to compliance requirements.
