Education


  • Bachelor/Honors, Bachelor of Science (BSc), in CSE or Information Technology from a reputed university, preferably with an MBA.
  • Masters, Master of Science (MSc), in CSE or Information Technology from a reputed university, preferably with an MBA.

  • At least 10 years’ experience in network infrastructure setup, network operations management, ERP/ University Management System handling and back-end development experience with MySQL, PHP, Java and WordPress preferably in a university.
  • Wide experience in hardware, software and network trouble shooting and maintenance.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience of holding a senior position in an IT Team of an organization.
  • Adaptability to new technologies, tools, and techniques by learning those out of self-interest.
  • Self-motivated to introduce age-befitting IT technologies to enhance automation in the University environment.
  • Strong leadership quality to lead an IT support team.
  • Familiarity with the knowledge of developing Custom Plugins & Themes for CMS.
  • Capability to develop Admin Portal User/Admin Concept with permission control.
  • Capability to integrate data from various back-end services and databases.

Responsibilities & Context

  • To translate the requirements of all University information into IT systems and procedures, articulating to the need of the relevant stakeholders.
  • To lead the IT team to support all aspects of the IT Support Services taking operational responsibility for the team.
  • To manage, motivate, and develop all staff within the IT group and ensure that the organizational structure is appropriate for supporting SMUCT’s current and future business needs.
  • To oversee all aspects of the implementation and operation of information and functional systems for the University, including software applications, network, phone systems and end-user computers.
  • To lead and coordinate development of the infrastructure to ensure key business strategies and processes are supported by the systems that enable growth and flexibility.
  • To act as an effective project manager in implementing and reviewing both existing and new hardware and software.
  • To ensure that all hardware and software in the labs, offices are in good working condition.
  • To ensure that the internet services to all users are satisfactory and that bills for the services are paid as per the agreement with the service providers.
  • To collaborate with management, departments and users to identify end-user requirements and specifications.
  • To ensure that the specifications, of the items that are procured, meet the requirement specified in the Requisition Form.
  • To ensure that the items that are procured, are properly entered in the designated Stock Register.
  • To ensure that the items that are requisitioned, are properly distributed by maintaining records in the designated Stock Register.
  • To ensure that the items that are relocated, are properly entered in the designated Stock Register.
  • To ensure that the spare items that are used for improvement/repair of items, are properly entered in the designated Stock Register.
  • To ensure the safe uses of the hardware and software provided to the labs.
  • To compile and assess user feedback to improve software performance.
  • To test, maintain and recommend software improvements (through consultation with the users) to ensure strong functionality and optimization.
  • To develop technical documentation to guide future software development projects.
  • To develop new features and user interfaces from wireframe models.
  • To ensure the best performance and user experience of the application.
  • To ensure the IT Support services requested by different departments in different occasions are provided satisfactorily on time.
  • To ensure the best performance and user experience of the application.
