Responsibilities & Context

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all Customs and Bond-related activities of the company in an efficient and compliant manner.

  • Maintain strong liaison with Customs Authority, Bond Commissionerate, BGMEA, EPB, banks, and other relevant regulatory bodies.

  • Prepare and process Bond licenses, UD, UP, EXP, IP, and all related customs and commercial documents.

  • Monitor customs compliance and ensure timely submission of audit reports and bond-related documentation.

  • Handle customs audits and ensure proper documentation in accordance with government rules and regulations.

  • Supervise import and export customs clearance operations to ensure smooth and timely shipment processing.

  • Coordinate with C&F agents, freight forwarders, suppliers, and internal departments for seamless shipment execution.

  • Maintain accurate bond registers, stock records, and consumption statements.

  • Follow up on BTB LCs, shipping documents, and related commercial documentation as required.

  • Ensure full compliance with VAT, Customs, and Bond regulations at all times.

  • Support management in reporting, problem-solving, and process improvement related to customs and commercial operations.

  • Ensure timely renewal of bond licenses and related certifications.

  • Monitor overall Export and Import operations and coordinate with related departments including Customs, Banking, Audit, BGMEA, Marketing, Merchandising, Accounts, and Finance.

  • Prepare and submit regular reports to management for necessary decision-making and actions.

  • Maintain communication with vendors, foreign buyers, banks, shipping lines, C&F agents, transport providers, insurance companies, and other stakeholders.

  • Follow up on payment realization and maintain strong customer relationship management with international buyers.

  • Handle all commercial correspondence with vendors and foreign buyers via email and other communication channels.

  • Ensure correct processing of L/C activities including issuance of PI, L/C amendments, correction of L/C terms as per Bangladesh Bank regulations, shipment conditions, and negotiations with buyers and sellers.

  • Monitor raw materials and packing materials availability and ensure proper HS code selection for smooth customs clearance and cost optimization.

  • Communicate with confirming banks for export LC confirmation at competitive rates.

  • Issue consumption reports and maintain bond registers accurately in both manual and digital systems.

  • Track import/export delivery status and update records after shipment completion.

  • Prepare audit reports including Export Proceeds Realization Certificate (EPRC) and import-export performance reports for fabrics and accessories.

  • Maintain detailed records of all original documents submitted to banks and update them in both register and computer systems.

  • Maintain records of Back-to-Back L/C performance and update relevant data regularly.

  • Collect and update Bill number, realized value, and courier details from banks on a weekly basis.

  • Inform management about BTB amounts, payment schedules, and due dates on a monthly basis.

  • Coordinate with logistics, customer service (CS), and C&F agents to ensure smooth delivery of goods.

  • Perform any other duties related to commercial, customs, and export-import operations as assigned by management.
