• Market Research and Trend Analysis:
• Conduct research and analyze market trends to develop innovative design concepts that align with the brand’s aesthetic and target audience.
• Technical Drawings and Specifications:
• Create detailed technical drawings, including garment measurements, material specifications, and construction techniques.
• Hand Sketching and CAD:
• Produce initial flat sketches by hand and convert them into detailed computer-aided designs (CAD).
• Fabric and Trim Selection:
• Research and select appropriate fabrics, trims, and embellishments based on design concepts, quality standards, and cost considerations.
• Collaboration with Pattern Makers:
• Work closely with pattern makers to develop accurate and functional garment patterns.
• Sample Review and Feedback:
• Review samples and provide feedback to ensure they meet design specifications and quality standards.
• Production Oversight:
• Collaborate with production teams to oversee the manufacturing process, ensuring garments are produced to the highest quality standards.
• Problem Solving in Production:
• Address any design or technical issues that arise during production.
• Fashion Trends and Industry Awareness:
• Stay updated on fashion trends, industry developments, and emerging technologies that may impact garment design.
• Mood Board and Trend Presentation:
• Proficient in preparing mood boards and trend presentations for customers based on their specific needs.
