Responsibilities & Context

AKH Knitting & Dyeing Ltd. (AKDL), a 100% export-oriented knit composite factory based in Phulbaria, Tetuljhora, Savar, Dhaka, and a sister concern of the AKH Group, is seeking a skilled and experienced Deputy General Manager (DGM) for the Garments Division. The DGM will be responsible for ensuring the quality of knit garment products at every stage of production, from cutting to packing.

  • Develop and implement effective quality assurance plans for the Garments Division, ensuring that all garments meet buyer specifications 100%.
  • Oversee quality assurance for knit garments from initial cutting to finished product.
  • Ensure successful inspections at various production stages and guarantee timely shipment.
  • Supervise and guide the quality team to meet quality objectives.
  • Ensure quality personnel are well-informed of specific buyer requirements and train them to uphold these standards throughout the production process.
  • Plan and execute quality assurance procedures that minimize time, manpower, and resources while maintaining optimal quality.
  • Conduct floor audits and manage first article and first piece inspections, providing detailed reports.
  • Review initial outputs against samples and follow up on first output garment measurement reports.
  • Promptly report any discrepancies to superior authorities for corrective action.
  • Finalize critical operations and key quality points, and communicate them to the Quality Inspectors (QIs).
  • Discuss inline inspection findings with the production, Industrial Engineering (IE), and Quality Assurance (QA) teams to implement corrective measures.
  • Report any deviations in the QA system to senior management.
  • Lead buyer technical audits within the factory.
  • Perform any additional tasks as assigned by the competent authority.
