Additional Requirements

• Conduct environmental assessments (IEE, EIA, ESIA, EMP) following national (DoE) and international (ADB, WB, JICA) standards and guidelines.

• Review and interpret project designs to identify potential environmental impacts and recommend mitigation measures.

• Ensure environmental safeguards are integrated throughout project planning, design, and implementation phases.

• Monitor project activities to ensure compliance with environmental management plans (EMP) and applicable regulations.

• Prepare and review environmental reports, including screening reports, monitoring reports, and compliance audits.

• Liaise with government authorities (e.g., Department of Environment), stakeholders, and donor agencies for environmental clearances and approvals.

• Support the preparation of environmental safeguard documents required by funding agencies (e.g., ADB SPS 2009, WB ESF).

• Conduct site visits to identify sensitive environmental areas and monitor contractors’ adherence to environmental standards.

• Organize environmental consultations, training sessions, and capacity-building programs for contractors, project staff, and local communities.

• Assist in developing climate-resilient, nature-based solutions and promote sustainable practices in project implementation.
