  • Cloud Computing and Data Management: Proven experience in cloud computing and data management, with a strong understanding of modern technologies and practices.
  • Programming Expertise: Extensive knowledge of programming languages, including Python, Java, XML, and SQL.
  • ETL Development: Demonstrated work experience as an ETL developer, particularly within the Python/Spark ecosystem.
  • Database Proficiency: Strong expertise in PostgreSQL or similar high-performance relational databases.
  • Project Management: Exceptional project management skills, with the ability to oversee complex data initiatives and ensure timely delivery.
  • Data Analysis: Ability to assess and align big-picture data requirements with business goals.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present technical concepts clearly to stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to address complex technical challenges efficiently.

Responsibilities & Context

  • Collaborate with Data Teams: Work closely with data management teams to understand the company’s overall data storage requirements and objectives.
  • Recommend Warehousing Solutions: Present tailored data warehousing options that align with the organization’s storage needs and business goals.
  • Design and Develop Systems: Design and develop the data warehousing system using PostgreSQL, Hadoop, or other distributed databases to meet company specifications.
  • Initial Testing: Conduct preliminary testing of the data warehousing environment prior to data extraction.
  • Data Extraction and Migration: Extract company data from existing sources and migrate it into the newly designed warehousing system.
  • System Validation: Test the new storage system comprehensively after data migration to ensure functionality and reliability.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve any issues that arise during development, migration, or operation of the warehousing system.
  • Maintenance and Support: Provide ongoing maintenance and support to ensure optimal performance of the data warehouse.
  • Pipeline Development: Design and implement data pipelines based on business needs, ensuring efficient data flow and processing.
  • Data Accuracy Testing: Verify and validate the accuracy of data in the warehouse against business requirements to maintain data integrity.
