  • General Experience: At least 15 years of professional experience in urban development, including event management, participatory planning, and engaging diverse community groups. Must have a proven track record of organizing conferences or multi-stakeholder events effectively.
  • Sector-Specific Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience working in the urban development sector, utilizing human-centered design approaches and facilitating solution-driven workshops to engage community stakeholders.
  • Development Cooperation Experience: At least 6 years of experience in projects related to development cooperation, demonstrating an ability to work on initiatives with international or development organizations.
  • Regional Experience: Preferable experience working with LGED, city corporations, or municipalities in Bangladesh, contributing to projects focused on urban planning and community engagement.
  • Inclusiveness Training: Participation in at least two training sessions related to gender and inclusiveness, ensuring a strong understanding of equity and representation in project activities.
  • Ability to communicate in English and Bangla language effectively, both oral and writing.
  • Able to report writing
  • Have adequate computer knowledge on Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, power point and capable to use Internet.
  • Able to summarize the results or observation.

Responsibilities & Context

  • Project Duration: Intermittent
  • Assist the Lead Consultant in planning and executing key project milestones, focusing on organizing and managing multi-stakeholder events, including workshops, conferences, and seminars. Ensure all events are well-coordinated and accessible to all participants, particularly vulnerable groups.
  • Oversee communication and outreach activities to encourage inclusive and broad participation from diverse target groups. Lead the execution of participatory and citizen-focused workshops, promoting inclusive decision-making and ensuring that all voices are heard.
  • Conduct and facilitate workshops that are solution-driven and centered on defining problems, ideating solutions, and developing community-based plans. Use human-centered design techniques to ensure proposed solutions are responsive and suitable for the communities’ needs.
  • Prepare and distribute outreach materials, such as newsletters, social media posts, and other communication tools, to engage stakeholders effectively. Collect and incorporate participant feedback to improve project activities continually.
  • Collaborate with local stakeholders to gather and share knowledge, documenting successful practices, lessons learned, and community-driven solutions. Ensure gender and inclusivity are integrated into all project activities.
  • Manage logistical aspects of events and activities to guarantee smooth operation. This includes venue selection, participant arrangements, and resource allocation to ensure inclusivity and accessibility.
