• Assist in the development and selection of knit fabrics based on buyer specifications and requirements.
• Evaluate fabric properties, such as GSM, shrinkage, spirality, pilling, colorfastness, and dimensional stability.
• Conduct lab dips and bulk shade assessments to ensure alignment with approved color standards.
• Communicate with fabric mills to provide bulk order specifications, review lab dips, and clarify technical details.
• Monitor fabric production at mills, ensuring adherence to technical specifications when necessary.
• Ensure fabrics undergo the required in-house or third-party testing according to buyer standards.
• Review and approve test reports related to fabric performance, wash fastness, bursting strength, and other quality parameters.
• Implement the 4-Point Inspection or 10-Point System, maintaining thorough fabric inspection records.
• Identify and resolve fabric-related quality issues before production, ensuring the integrity of materials used.
• Collaborate with production and QA teams to address fabric-related issues during cutting or sewing (e.g., shrinkage mismatch, curling, shade variation).
• Provide advice on fabric relaxation time and behavior during the production planning process.
• Maintain detailed fabric tech files, inspection reports, test data, and approval logs for reference and compliance.
• Coordinate with cross-functional departments to ensure smooth communication and resolution of fabric-related concerns.
