  • 3-5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in reputed garment factories, with a strong understanding of worker management and welfare practices.
  • Knowledge and Skills
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Bangladesh Labor Law and Labor Rules.
  • Strong communication skills for effectively engaging with workers and management.
  • Proficiency in basic computer operations, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email correspondence, and internet browsing.
  • Personal Attributes
  • Ability to perform effectively under pressure and handle challenging situations with composure.
  • A positive attitude and eagerness to learn and adapt to new situations.
  • Work Environment
  • Willingness to reside near the factory premises to ensure prompt response and availability.

Responsibilities & Context

  • Worker Interaction and Support
  • Conduct interviews, provide counseling, and motivate workers while maintaining detailed reports of these activities.
  • Communicate company policies, procedures, and updates effectively to workers.
  • Conduct awareness and training programs to ensure workers understand their rights and responsibilities.
  • Absenteeism and Exit Management
  • Analyze the root causes of worker absenteeism and recommend actionable solutions.
  • Regularly conduct exit interviews for resigned or long-absent workers to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Maternity Benefits and Employee Wellness
  • Implement and ensure compliance with legal guidelines related to maternity leave and benefits.
  • Assist the medical team in maintaining a well-equipped and standard breastfeeding corner for nursing mothers.
  • Prepare quarterly maternity benefit budgets and ensure timely disbursement of benefits.
  • Health and Safety Support
  • Prepare and process bills for medicine issued to injured or sick employees, keeping records accurately.
  • Support health and safety initiatives and ensure compliance with workplace safety standards.
  • Worker Orientation and Committee Coordination
  • Conduct orientation sessions for new workers regularly to familiarize them with workplace policies and culture.
  • Coordinate activities of the Anti-harassment and Grievance Disposal Committee to ensure a fair and ethical workplace.
  • Complaint and Suggestion Management
  • Manage and maintain Complaint and Suggestion Boxes, ensuring all submissions are addressed appropriately.
  • Take immediate action in cases of unfair, unethical behavior or violations of workers' basic rights.
  • Building a Positive Work Environment
  • Engage in formal and informal communication with workers to gather feedback and recommendations for a harmonious working environment.
  • Foster a culture of respect, inclusion, and open communication within the workforce.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective worker engagement.
  • Knowledge of labor laws, particularly related to maternity benefits, grievance handling, and workplace safety.
  • Analytical abilities to assess absenteeism trends and implement solutions.
  • Organizational skills to manage documentation, training schedules, and committee activities.
  • Problem-solving mindset to address workplace challenges and ensure employee satisfaction.
  • Empathy and ethical judgment in handling sensitive worker concerns.
