Responsibilities & Context

  • Analytical Method Development & Validation/Verification:

    • Conduct analytical method development, validation/verification, and formulation development for herbal products.
    • Prepare specifications and Methods of Analysis for raw materials, packaging materials, and finished products.
    • Ensure seamless technology transfer to Quality Control.

  • Formulation Development & Re-Formulation:

    • Perform re-formulation and formulation development for assigned new products, including all subsequent activities.
    • Prepare Process Optimization and Process Validation documents.
    • Execute Process Optimization (PO) and Process Validation (PV) batches according to procedural requirements.
    • Analyze stability samples of new products based on defined schedules.

  • Documentation & Compliance:

    • Prepare necessary documentation including protocols, batch records, Drug Master Files, and Product Development Reports.
    • Address troubleshooting for commercial products and perform cleaning validation activities in compliance with regulatory standards.

  • Herbal Manufacturing Process Supervision:

    • Monitor and oversee herbal manufacturing processes, including line clearance, machine startup clearance, in-process controls, reconciliation, storage, cleaning, and changeovers, ensuring adherence to planning, guidelines, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for timely production.
    • Ensure optimal utilization of resources as per the production plan.
    • Maintain compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) in all production activities.

  • Documentation & Reporting:

    • Prepare Batch Manufacturing Records, Batch Packaging Records, and other relevant documentation, including SAP-related records.
    • Participate in cross-functional activities such as machine trials for new products, validation, and qualification of environments, equipment, and products, as well as Quality Management System (QMS) activities.

  • Staff Supervision & Training:

    • Supervise and provide training to operators, helpers, and other production staff.

  • Productivity Monitoring:

    • Monitor and report on productivity metrics daily, monthly, and annually.
