Responsibilities & Context

  • Time, Motion, and Capacity Study: Conduct time studies, motion studies, and capacity analysis for full-line operations, focusing on line balancing and addressing bottleneck areas.
  • Methods Development & Analysis: Develop and analyze methods to improve operational efficiency and streamline workflows.
  • Performance Monitoring: Follow up on low-performing operators, identify operational breakdowns, and perform SMV (Standard Minute Value) calculations based on time studies.
  • Operator Training: Provide training to production staff to enhance efficiency and promote skill development on a process-wise basis.
  • Loss Time Reduction: Record and analyze nonproductive time (loss time) to implement strategies for its reduction.
  • Production Monitoring: Track hourly production rates and ensure line targets are met.
  • Reporting: Prepare Man-Machine reports, implement 5S standards, conduct training and audits, and ensure the minimization of defects using the 7 QC tools.
  • Quality Improvement: Conduct statistical analysis for continuous quality improvement.
  • Production Planning & Control: Perform production planning, capacity studies, and planning calculations to reduce wastage and optimize production.
  • Cost Management: Plan manpower budgets, calculate CPM (Cost Per Minute) & CM (Cost per Unit), and determine line cost.
  • Efficiency Calculations: Conduct floor capacity calculations, reduce work-in-process (WIP), and calculate operator, line, and floor efficiency.
  • Lean Manufacturing & Six Sigma: Implement lean manufacturing tools and Six Sigma methodologies to improve productivity and efficiency.
  • Manpower Optimization: Manage manpower requisitions, eliminate excess manpower, and optimize workforce usage.
  • Coordination with Merchandising: Collaborate with merchandising teams to ensure alignment of production and business needs.
  • Fabric & Thread Consumption Analysis: Monitor fabric and thread consumption to ensure efficient use of materials.
  • Garment Analysis & Costing: Conduct garment analysis and style development to reduce costs while maintaining quality.
