• The R&D Fabric Development Lead is responsible for leading the development of innovative, sustainable, and high-quality fabrics. This role oversees the knitting and dyeing processes, ensuring a smooth transition from fabric design to production. The R&D Lead identifies potential fabric limitations early in the development phase and offers technical solutions to optimize production quality and process efficiency.
• Key Responsibilities:
• Fabric Development:
• Lead the development of new fabric designs and materials, focusing on innovation, sustainability, and quality.
• Research and test new fabric technologies and materials that meet market demand and customer specifications.
• Collaborate with design, production, and sourcing teams to ensure fabric development aligns with product requirements and timelines.
• Knitting & Dyeing Oversight:
• Supervise and coordinate the knitting and dyeing sections to ensure successful implementation of fabric designs.
• Monitor and optimize knitting and dyeing processes to maintain consistency, quality, and efficiency.
• Troubleshoot any issues or challenges that arise in these sections, providing technical support to resolve them.
• Limitation Identification & Solution Implementation:
• Identify potential limitations or challenges in fabric designs or processes during the early stages of development.
• Proactively suggest design modifications, process adjustments, or material alternatives to resolve limitations.
• Work closely with production teams to ensure issues are addressed without compromising quality or timelines.
• Collaboration & Communication:
• Collaborate with Merchandisers, production, quality control, and commercial teams to ensure fabric development meets customer expectations and standards.
• Communicate technical challenges effectively to cross-functional teams, proposing viable solutions.
• Prepare and present technical reports, updates, and recommendations to senior management.
• Quality Control & Improvement:
• Ensure all new fabric developments meet internal and external quality standards.
• Continuously evaluate and improve fabric quality, performance, and functionality by staying informed about industry trends, new technologies, and testing methodologies.
• Documentation & Reporting:

• Maintain detailed records of fabric developments, including material specifications, testing results, and changes made during the development process.
• Prepare and submit regular reports on project status, timelines, and obstacles encountered during fabric development.
