  • Strong technical knowledge of fabric manufacturing processes is essential.
  • In-depth understanding and professional experience in Purchasing Contracts.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Bengali.
  • Strong negotiation, customer service, and consulting skills.
  • Extensive market knowledge of various types of fabrics.
  • Proven ability to negotiate effectively and provide expert consulting.
  • A good team player who is well-organized, proactive, and detail-oriented.

Responsibilities & Context

  • Identify and purchase fabrics based on buyer demand, ensuring timely in-house fabric availability.
  • Assess and understand factory processes for knitting, dyeing, and other fabric treatments; recommend improvements to optimize fabric production timelines.
  • Plan fabric production processes and procedures effectively, negotiate bulk fabric prices, and provide necessary approvals to factories.
  • Monitor fabric quality and consistency at different stages of production, ensuring alignment with approved samples, and follow up on both sample and bulk fabric production until completion.
  • Collect and review fabric continuity swatches, providing feedback and recommendations for quality improvements.
  • Source seasonal fabrics based on buyer requirements and oversee fabric booking, preparation (including knitting and dyeing), and order placement.
  • Coordinate with the Merchandising Department to understand fabric requirements and manage fabric inventory.
  • Maintain strong relationships with fabric producers to ensure on-time in-house fabric availability.
  • Negotiate with fabric suppliers to secure competitive prices without compromising on quality.
  • Manage fabric suppliers and conduct random visits to factories for quality selection and evaluation.
  • Source backup suppliers to mitigate risks related to delivery delays, capacity issues, or quality concerns.
  • Prepare the TNA (Time and Action Plan) for fabric production (Y/D, Knitting, Dyeing).
  • Monitor and follow up on the fabric delivery plan to ensure timely arrival.
  • Perform any other tasks as assigned by management.
