Responsibilities & Context

  • Technical Monitoring: Oversee vessel reporting for technical issues, machinery maintenance, or failure reports, and maintain an archive for timely analysis.
  • Document Management: Ensure managerial documents, vessel manuals, dry-docking (DD), and other major maintenance-related files are properly preserved and accessible.
  • Spare Parts Coordination: Process spare parts requisitions from vessels and ensure their efficient and timely supply for maintenance and safe operation.
  • Procurement Oversight: Review purchase orders for engine spares and stores, maintaining clear communication with suppliers.
  • Spare Parts Logistics: Plan for delivering spares at convenient ports/locations considering vessel movements, delivery timelines, lead times, forwarding arrangements, and pricing.
  • Client Liaison: Maintain regular communication with clients to ensure compliance with ship management agreements.
  • Cost Tracking: Keep detailed records of costs related to spares, stores, and related activities.
  • Vessel Registration Support: Assist in registering new vessels and coordinating relevant services and certifications with flag and class authorities.
  • New Vessel Inspection: Support verification of newly constructed vessels by assessing machinery and equipment selection, monitoring pre- and post-installation tests, overseeing sea trials, and evaluating post-delivery performance for guarantee
