Education

• Bachelor/Honors, Bachelor of Science (BSc), in Textile Engineering with a focus in Fabric Manufacturing/ Engineering from a well reputed institute.

Experience

• 5 Year to 7 Year

Additional Requirements

• Fabric Development & Coordination:
• Collaborate with the Merchandising and Design teams to understand fabric requirements and specifications for development, sampling, and bulk production.
• Possess in-depth knowledge of knitting process parameters such as yarn type, stitch density, gauge, tension, and fabric structure to achieve desired fabric characteristics and quality.
• Evaluate fabric swatches based on color consistency, hand feel, composition, shrinkage, durability, and other relevant parameters. 
• Technical Expertise:   
• Demonstrate strong technical knowledge of yarns, fabrics, knit/woven constructions, print processes, fabric finishes, and washing techniques.
• Have a sound analytical understanding of color and its impact on fabric development and approval.
• Costing & Market Awareness:
• Possess solid knowledge of fabric and yarn pricing trends in the market.
• Accurately and promptly provide fabric costings to the Marketing team.
• Ensure cost reduction by minimizing production wastage and optimizing resource use.
• Planning & Execution:
• Ensure swift yarn procurement upon receiving bookings from Merchandisers.
• Prepare knitting and dyeing plans and share fabric delivery timelines with Merchandising and Planning teams.
• Monitor and follow up on Time & Action (TNA) plans to ensure timely fabric in-housing for production.
• Reporting & Compliance:
• Prepare reports on production, maintenance, manpower, quality, safety, consumption, stock levels, and production costs as assigned.
• Oversee fabric inspection reports and ensure consistency with approved quality parameters.
• Ensure that fabric is received on time to meet cutting schedules and update the Quality and Merchandising teams accordingly.
• Commercial & Documentation:
• Possess knowledge of commercial procedures such as Letters of Credit (L/C), UD, and other relevant documentation.
• Teamwork & Communication:
• Exhibit strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively across departments.
• Carry out any other duties or responsibilities assigned by management as required.
