Responsibilities & Context

  • Ensure pre-production activities are completed, including the 3P checklist, critical process training, and critical machine setup.
  • Ensure proper line balancing and optimize the capacity of the production line.
  • Create paper and visual layouts at least 3 days prior to the line layout.
  • Develop and balance capacity graphs, ensuring line capacity aligns with the production plan.
  • Identify bottlenecks and remove them through motion study, method study, capacity analysis, and workplace arrangement.
  • Evaluate the skills of new operators and conduct interviews.
  • Focus on automation, innovation, and sustaining work simplification to reduce Standard Minute Value (SMV).
  • Work towards reducing Cost of Time (COT) according to target plans and lead the team to achieve COT goals.
  • Ensure and work towards reducing Non-Productive Time (NPT) in all surrounding areas.
  • Ensure optimal utilization of manpower, machines, and materials while reducing costs using Industrial Engineering (IE) tools.
  • Promote skill development for operators and supervisors, ensuring the skill matrix is maintained for each operator.
  • Identify training needs for employees and coordinate training programs for supervisors and line staff.
