Responsibilities & Context

  • Prepare proposed and as-built Fire Detection System designs in compliance with applicable codes and standards, including NFPA, BNBC, RSC Guidelines, and FM Global requirements.
  • Design Fire Protection Systems such as Automatic Sprinkler Systems, Standpipe Systems, Fire Hydrant Systems, and Clean Agent Suppression Systems in accordance with relevant codes and standards.
  • Develop fire safety plans and strategies in compliance with Bangladesh Fire Service & Civil Defence (BFSCD) requirements.
  • Perform hydraulic calculations for sprinkler, hydrant, and other fire protection systems.
  • Prepare detailed design drawings, engineering calculations, Bills of Quantities (BOQ), technical specifications, and technical submittals.
  • Conduct site inspections and provide technical support during installation, testing, and commissioning activities.
  • Coordinate with clients, consultants, authorities, and project teams regarding design approvals and technical matters.
  • Participate in authority approval processes, project meetings, and client discussions.
  • Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and support to junior engineers and project personnel.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports and documentation related to fire detection and fire protection systems.
  • Support pre-testing, final Testing & Commissioning (T&C) activities in accordance with NFPA standards and RSC guidelines.
  • Ensure all designs and installations comply with applicable safety regulations, project specifications, and industry best practices.
  • Perform any other engineering and project-related responsibilities assigned by management.
