Experience Requirements:
Minimum 4–5 years of relevant experience in gender, GBV, protection, SRHR, or social development programming.
Solid understanding of the Multi-Sectoral Programme on Violence Against Women under the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs.
Experience coordinating with government agencies, UN bodies, or rights-based organizations.
Strong knowledge of survivor-centered approaches, GBV case management, safeguarding, and Do No Harm principles.

Contract Type: Fixed-term until 31 December 2026 (renewable based on funding and performance)
The Gender Expert is responsible for promoting gender-responsive and survivor-centered approaches across all project activities. The role provides technical guidance, strengthens staff and partner capacity, and ensures the integration of gender, protection, and safeguarding standards into GBV service delivery.
The Gender Expert also ensures quality in GBV case management, psychosocial support (PSS), psychological first aid (PFA), and referral services, including individual counseling, follow-up, and effective referral pathways. The position supports coordination, quality assurance, and continuous learning across GBV service points and community-based initiatives. This mid-level role is suitable for candidates with 4–5 years of experience in gender, GBV, protection, or related fields.
1. Technical Guidance and Quality Assurance:
Provide technical support on gender, protection, and GBV to project teams and partner organizations.
Review case management practices to ensure alignment with national/international GBV guidelines, SOPs, and survivor-centered principles.
Support frontline workers in handling complex GBV, child protection, disability inclusion, and SRHR cases.
Monitor adherence to confidentiality, safety, ethical data handling, and protection standards.
Contribute to the development and improvement of operational tools, protocols, and guidance materials.
2. Capacity Development:
Facilitate trainings, coaching, and refresher sessions for staff, government stakeholders, volunteers, and community actors.
Develop accessible training materials, checklists, job aids, and quick-reference tools.
Mentor service providers on documentation, referral systems, follow-up procedures, safety planning, and survivor support.
Support learning initiatives, including after-action reviews, peer learning sessions, and case conferences.
3. System Strengthening, Monitoring, and Reporting:
Monitor service delivery standards across GBV service points and identify gaps or improvement areas.
Conduct assessments on quality of care, accessibility, safety, and gender responsiveness.
Support gender-responsive data analysis and the use of sex- and age-disaggregated data for decision-making.
Prepare monthly updates, analytical briefs, technical inputs, and donor-required reports.
4. Coordination and Partnership Engagement:
Engage with government bodies, UN agencies, legal aid organizations, law enforcement, health service providers, and civil society partners.
Strengthen and maintain referral pathways between community actors and service facilities.
Represent the project in technical working groups, district coordination meetings, and stakeholder consultations.
Support partnership development, joint planning, and collaborative capacity-building initiatives.
5. Compliance, Safeguarding, and Risk Mitigation:
Ensure compliance with safeguarding, PSEA, confidentiality, and ethical data management standards.
Identify risks related to gender, protection, and inclusion, and advise on mitigation measures.
Provide technical inputs to update organizational and project operational guidelines as needed.
Conduct awareness sessions for staff and partners on safeguarding and ethical practices.
6. Reporting Line:
The Gender Expert will report directly to the Project Coordinator.
