Responsibilities & Context

  • Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the organization's overall business objectives.
  • Collaborate with production, sales, and other departments to plan and forecast workforce needs.
  • Design and update organizational structures, roles, and responsibilities as needed.
  • Manage HR budgets, including recruitment, training, and employee benefits.
  • Oversee the recruitment process, including job postings, interviews, selection, and onboarding.
  • Attract and retain skilled employees through effective recruitment and engagement strategies.
  • Develop talent management programs, including succession planning, employee development, and leadership training.
  • Manage performance appraisal systems, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Foster a positive work environment by addressing employee concerns, resolving conflicts, and maintaining open communication.
  • Implement employee engagement initiatives to improve morale and productivity.
  • Oversee grievance redressal processes and ensure fair treatment of all employees.
  • Organize employee welfare programs to enhance satisfaction.
  • Identify training needs and develop customized training programs across the organization.
  • Facilitate leadership development and professional growth opportunities for all levels of employees.
  • Ensure regular compliance training, such as workplace safety and harassment prevention.

  • Maintain relationships with government authorities and regulatory bodies for audits and inspections.
  • Handle disputes and investigations related to compliance issues, such as wage violations or harassment claims.
  • Ensure employee policies comply with local labor laws, social compliance standards (e.g., BSCI, SEDEX), and international guidelines.
  • Implement and monitor occupational health and safety (OHS) programs, ensuring adherence to safety regulations.
  • Conduct risk assessments, manage safety drills, and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Investigate workplace accidents and hazards, addressing non-compliance issues.
  • Promote a safety-first culture throughout the organization.
  • Oversee social compliance programs to ensure adherence to ethical labor standards, including child labor prevention and fair wages.
  • Prepare for and manage third-party social audits from international buyers and certification bodies.
  • Maintain records of compliance audits and corrective actions for continuous improvement.
  • Ensure proper documentation and procedures for factory audits and sustainability certifications.
  • Maintain positive industrial relations by managing interactions between management, employees, and unions (if applicable).
  • Negotiate with labor unions, resolve disputes, and ensure agreements to prevent labor disruptions.
  • Ensure compliance with collective bargaining agreements and resolve conflicts related to employment terms and wages.
  • Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within the organization.
  • Implement policies fostering an inclusive, discrimination-free workplace.
  • Monitor and improve diversity and fairness initiatives within the workforce.
  • Regularly review HR metrics (turnover rates, employee satisfaction, compliance adherence) to inform decision-making.
  • Prepare HR and compliance performance reports for senior management.
  • Conduct HR audits and compliance reviews to identify gaps and areas for improvement.
  • Manage crisis situations such as labor strikes or workplace accidents, ensuring prompt resolution.
  • Develop contingency plans for HR and compliance issues, ensuring business continuity.
  • Coordinate with external consultants, labor authorities, legal advisors, and certification bodies on HR and compliance matters.
  • Maintain strong relationships with buyers and international clients, ensuring adherence to social responsibility standards.
  • Develop and manage sustainability and social responsibility initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations related to waste management, energy consumption, and sustainable practices.
