  • In-depth knowledge of land laws, property laws, and registration procedures in Bangladesh

  • Strong liaison and networking capability with government offices
  • Effective leadership and team management skills
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability
  • High level of integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Capable of working under pressure and managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Good communication skills in both Bangla and English
  • Willingness to conduct field visits for land verification and acquisition 
 
 

Responsibilities & Context

As part of this growth, applications are invited from competent and experienced candidates for the position of GM – Legal, Estate & Registration for Bay Icon International Hotel & Resort Ltd.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee all legal affairs related to company operations
  • Draft, review, and vet various agreements including land purchase, joint venture, lease, sale deeds, and contractor agreements
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations (land, real estate, company, tax, etc.)
  • Coordinate with external lawyers, legal advisors, and regulatory authorities
  • Handle legal notices, disputes, litigation, and arbitration matters
  • Provide legal guidance and strategic advice to management
  • Supervise land sourcing, due diligence, and acquisition processes
  • Verify land ownership, titles, and documentation (CS, RS, SA, BS records, mutation, khatian, etc.)
  • Ensure proper land measurement, demarcation, and boundary verification
  • Maintain strong relationships with landowners, brokers, and local authorities
  • Oversee estate management activities and resolve land-related issues
  • Ensure smooth and timely registration of land, flats, and related properties
  • Coordinate with sub-registry offices for deed registration
  • Supervise preparation and execution of legal documents (Sale Deed, Agreement for Sale, Power of Attorney, etc.)
  • Ensure compliance with stamp duty and registration fee requirements
  • Maintain accurate and organized records of all registered documents
  • Identify legal and land-related risks and develop mitigation strategies
  • Conduct legal due diligence for projects and investments
  • Ensure projects are free from legal complications before development
  • Lead and manage the Legal, Estate, and Registration team
  • Coordinate with Sales, Engineering, Finance, and Admin departments
  • Monitor team performance and ensure timely task completion
  • Maintain liaison with government bodies (RAJUK, Sub-Registrar Office, Land Office, City Corporation, etc.)
  • Follow up on approvals, clearances, and required documentation
  • Ensure compliance with government policies and regulatory frameworks
  • Prepare regular reports on legal cases, land status, and registration progress
  • Maintain proper documentation and filing systems (both physical and digital)
  • Keep management informed about legal risks and project updates
