Responsibilities & Context
- Organize and prepare factories for various audits, including SEDEX, WRAP, Wal-Mart, Accord & Alliance, C-TPAT, GSV, and other ethical, environmental, technical, building, electrical, fire safety, supply chain security (SCS), FCA, and compliance audits.
- Update company policies, prepare the workplace, create a code of conduct, and formulate workers' handbooks, training policies, and development programs.
- Organize separate training programs for factory staff and workers regarding compliance issues.
- Develop the physical and mental capacity of workers to meet the highest standards of production.
- Ensure the health, safety, and better working conditions in all workplaces.
- Raise awareness among workers about labor laws, ILO, ISO, Code of Conduct (COC), Human Rights, and Company Policy.
- Ensure timely provision of leave, rest facilities, salary, overtime allowances, and compensation to all workers and staff.
- Monitor and enforce grievance and disciplinary procedures among workers and staff.
- Implement buyers’ Code of Conduct (COC), factory acts, and compliance requirements in all factory sections.
- Submit pre-audit questionnaires and Corrective Action Plans (CAP) to buyers within the stipulated time.
- Pre-evaluate the factory before buyer evaluations and ensure the factory is prepared according to the buyer's requirements.
- Conduct constant and regular visits to all sections of the factory to identify compliance gaps and offer suggestions to management for improvement.
- Maintain regular liaison with all relevant buyers.
- Foster positive and peaceful relations between factory management, top management, and workers/staff.
- Organize periodical meetings, seminars, workshops, and social-cultural functions.
- Coordinate with third-party audit organizations selected by buyers and prepare the factory according to their instructions.
- Arrange various environmental tests (e.g., wastewater of ETP, stack emission, ambient air quality, noise levels, drinking water) and submit results to the Department of Environment on time.
- Ensure chemical compliance as per buyer requirements.
- Share various requirements, such as code of conduct and quality specifications, with subcontractors.
- Evaluate subcontractor factories using the same criteria as buyers use to evaluate the main factory.
- Submit evaluation reports to management or buyers with comments and suggestions.
