Responsibilities & Context

Chartered Life Insurance PLC. is seeking a dynamic and experienced professional for the position of Head of Underwriting & Reinsurance to lead underwriting and reinsurance operations across Individual Life, Group Insurance, and Alternative Distribution Channels (ADC).

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead underwriting strategies, policies, and overall risk management frameworks
  • Oversee Individual Life Insurance underwriting operations and maintain portfolio quality
  • Manage Group Insurance underwriting, pricing strategies, and profitability analysis
  • Supervise underwriting operations for ADC channels including bancassurance and digital platforms
  • Manage reinsurance activities, including treaty and facultative arrangements
  • Ensure compliance with IDRA regulations, underwriting standards, and internal company policies
  • Coordinate closely with actuarial, claims, sales, and product development teams
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the underwriting team to ensure operational excellence and business growth
