Junior Instructor – Computer

Nature of Job

Initially offered as a 2-year contractual position.

Job Purpose

To ensure quality teaching in accordance with the prescribed curriculum and syllabus while making effective and efficient use of available teaching resources.

Key Job Responsibilities

• Deliver lessons to students according to the academic schedule, curriculum, and prescribed syllabus.

• Prepare appropriate lesson plans, workshop instructions, and laboratory instruction sheets.

• Supervise and monitor students’ practical work, classroom activities, and assigned tasks.

• Provide additional guidance and support to students to help them understand difficult concepts and subject-related issues.

• Encourage students to participate actively in co-curricular and extracurricular activities.

• Motivate and counsel students to maintain regular attendance and active participation in classes.

• Communicate with parents or guardians when necessary regarding students’ academic progress, attendance, or other relevant matters.

• Assist with the admission and enrollment of students at UIST.

• Maintain updated student profiles, academic information, examination records, and related documentation.

• Prepare and maintain documents and records required by the Bangladesh Technical Education Board (BTEB).

• Ensure effective utilization, maintenance, and proper reuse of teaching materials, equipment, and other available resources.

• Conduct regular and timely maintenance of teaching equipment and laboratory resources to ensure their proper functioning.

• Assist in preparing the departmental budget and related financial requirements when necessary.

• Maintain strict confidentiality regarding institutional information and affairs while upholding the reputation and dignity of the institution.

• Perform any other duties and responsibilities assigned by the UIST authority, Principal, Vice-Principal, or Department Head as required.
