The Advocacy Manager will be responsible for designing and executing strategic advocacy initiatives to promote the Humanitarian Play Lab (HPL) model, ensuring children's rights to play, early education, and protection are upheld in crisis settings. This position plays a key role in policy influence, partnership building, and enhancing the visibility of HPL through data-driven advocacy efforts at local, national, and international levels. The role also ensures quality implementation and effective coordination with partners and stakeholders in both host communities and refugee camps.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and implement advocacy strategies aligned with HPL’s mission and goals.
Identify policy gaps and opportunities for integrating play-based learning into humanitarian and development agendas.
Lead data-driven advocacy efforts using research and field-level insights.
Maintain communication and collaboration with key stakeholders, including donors, government bodies, and other partners in camps and host communities (e.g., CIC, UNO, CMO, UPEO, DPEO).
Build and nurture partnerships with government agencies, NGOs, UN organizations, civil society, and media outlets.
Represent the HPL initiative in networks, policy forums, and dialogues.
Promote the inclusion of HPL into national early childhood development (ECD) policies and emergency response plans.
Collaborate with communications teams to develop advocacy content such as case studies, policy briefs, video stories, and campaign materials.
Ensure consistent, rights-based messaging across all communication platforms aligned with child protection values.
Organize advocacy events such as campaigns, roundtables, media briefings, etc.
Safeguarding Responsibilities:
Protect children, program participants, staff, and anyone connected to the organization from harm, abuse, neglect, and exploitation, including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA).
Serve as a key advocate and resource on safeguarding practices to maintain a safe work and program environment.
Actively promote and implement safeguarding principles in all actions and team responsibilities.
Promptly report any safeguarding concerns following the established procedures and encourage team members to do the same.
