Responsibilities & Context

  • Develop, implement, and monitor sample and CAD design standards and procedures to align with customer requirements.
  • Ensure timely preparation of accurate samples to meet buyer expectations.
  • Provide logistical support for defect control on the production floor.
  • Interpret customer concepts and ideas to develop new products within the given timeframe.
  • Maintain the sample approval rate as per KPI targets.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risk factors in the production process.
  • Ensure the creation of master patterns for all garment sizes (XS to XL) using measurement charts, drafting instruments, CAD software, and grading tools.
  • Oversee manual and digital pattern-making processes, including Optitex, and provide technical guidance to the CAD team.
  • Supervise pattern corrections and offer technical support during sample development and production.
  • Drive cost reduction by minimizing process losses, rejections, and material wastage.
  • Manage pattern direction, fabric selection, and the development of proto samples and tech packs based on buyer instructions.
  • Coordinate and communicate effectively with sample makers, cutting teams, merchandisers, technicians, senior management, and suppliers to optimize fabric utilization and minimize waste.
  • Digitize patterns provided by pattern makers, making necessary alterations, adjustments, and grading as required.
  • Oversee the overall operations of the CAD and Sample department.
  • Perform any other tasks assigned by management.
