• Assist in the development and selection of knit fabrics based on buyer specifications and requirements.
• Evaluate fabric properties such as GSM, shrinkage, spirality, pilling, colorfastness, and dimensional stability.
• Conduct lab dips and bulk shade assessments to ensure consistency with approved standards.
• Communicate with fabric mills to clarify bulk order specifications, lab dips, and technical details.
• Monitor fabric production at mills, ensuring strict adherence to technical specifications.
• Ensure fabrics undergo necessary in-house or third-party testing in accordance with buyer standards.
• Review and approve test reports related to fabric performance, wash fastness, bursting strength, etc.
• Oversee the testing process and ensure proper documentation.
• Implement 4-Point Inspection or 10-Point System, maintaining detailed fabric inspection records.
• Identify and resolve fabric-related quality issues before production begins.
• Collaborate with production and QA teams to address fabric issues during cutting or sewing, such as shrinkage mismatch, curling, or shade variation.
• Advise on fabric relaxation time and behavior during the production planning process.
• Maintain fabric technical files, inspection reports, test data, and approval logs.
• Coordinate effectively with cross-functional departments to ensure smooth operations.
