• Generate new business leads, responsible for acquiring new clients and retaining existing buyers.
• Possess strong market management skills with extensive experience in merchandising channels, networks, and apparel merchandising.
• Manage organizational sales by creating a comprehensive business plan that includes sales, revenue growth, and expense control.
• Oversee the activities and performance of the merchandising team, providing leadership through motivation, guidance, and product knowledge training.
• Understand our ideal customers and how they align with our products, and play an active role in shaping the factory’s policies.
• Responsible for managing merchandising and production, including sampling, fit and preproduction approvals, fabric and trim approvals, testing, and gold seals. Collaborate with QA teams for timely inspections and deliveries, and keep buyers updated on production status.
• Handle garment costing, and independently correspond with both foreign buyers and local buying agents, managing the entire process from inquiry to shipment.
• Analyze market trends and buyer needs to develop creative and innovative samples for marketing purposes.
• Coordinate with buyers and agencies to obtain approvals for fabric hand looms, strike-offs, lab dips, trims, and lab testing.
• Collaborate with designers, suppliers, and manufacturers to develop new products.
• Monitor subordinates to ensure the booking of fabrics and accessories, track daily production status, maintain trims and fabric inventory, and support factory production processes.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers.
• Track development and production merchandising issues, follow up on trims and fabric deliveries to ensure timely in-house arrivals with good quality and quantities.
• Use data analytics to inform decisions and improve merchandising strategies.
• Present insights and recommendations to senior management.
• Perform any additional duties as assigned by management.
