Responsibilities & Context
Manager/Senior Manager of Legal Affairs Department of Group of Companies typically oversees and manages the legal aspects of operations, compliance, risk management, and contracts across various business units within the organization. This role ensures that all legal matters are handled efficiently, while also aligning with corporate objectives and regulatory requirements. Below are common job responsibilities for this position.
- Provide legal counsel to senior management and various departments on a wide range of issues·
- Ensure the company adheres to all relevant local, national, and international laws and regulations·
- Develop and implement legal strategies that align with the company’s goals and objectives, ensuring the business operates within legal and regulatory frameworks·
- Oversee the review, drafting, and negotiation of key contracts and agreements·
- Ensure contracts are legally sound, minimize legal risks, and are consistent with company policies·
- Facilitate alternative dispute resolution (ADR) methods, such as mediation or arbitration, to resolve conflicts efficiently and cost-effectively·
- Develop strategies for resolving disputes efficiently and cost-effectively, while protecting the company's interests·
- Provide strategic legal advice on disputes that may arise with customers, suppliers, or employees·
- Coordinate with external legal advisors to ensure smooth execution of corporate transactions·
- Draft, implement, and enforce internal policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legal requirements and best practices·
- Monitor changes in laws and regulations that could impact company operations and ensure the company adapts accordingly·
- Advise on employee contracts, terminations, and benefits policies, ensuring compliance with labor laws·
- Liaise with government bodies, regulatory agencies, and industry groups to influence policies and stay ahead of legislative changes·
- Maintain accurate records of all legal documents, contracts, and correspondences related to company matters of all the concerns·
- Draft and implement internal policies, legal documents, contracts and procedures to ensure the company’s operations align with legal and regulatory requirements·
- Review and verify the legal status of land titles to ensure they are clear of encumbrances or disputes.·
- Verify the ownership history of the land to ensure that the property seller has the legal right to sell the land·
- Provide regular updates and reports to senior management and the Board of Directors on the company’s legal status, potential risks, and key legal matters·
- Verify the authenticity of all documents, including title deeds, sale agreements, and land records
- Provide legal counsel to senior management on land-related matters, including contract terms, property disputes, and regulatory compliance·
- Keep up to date with changes in property laws, land acquisition policies, tax laws, and other legal regulations that may affect the company's real estate operations
- Any task assigned by Management.
